Figure skating is one of the most popular Winter Olympic sports; in fact, it might be said that it is associated with the Games itself, as it is the oldest event on the winter schedule.
Figure skating was originally competed in during the 1908 London Summer Olympics and then again in 1920 in Antwerp before being permanently relocated to the Winter Olympic Games, which were first hosted in Chamonix, France, in 1924.
The figure skating competition at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics will feature five events: men’s individual, women’s individual, pairs, ice dance, and the team event.
